Title Research: Split

  1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? Production companies, name of the actors, the film creator, costume designers, etc.
  2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?  The opening sequence switches from the place the kidnapped girl is and the title screen. 
  3. What connotations do these images carry? The face-paced cutting between each scene is getting the audience immersed and prepared for what could possibly happen next. 
  4. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? Non-diegetic sound is increasing the anxiousness one might feel watching this. 
  5. What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? Since there are kidnapped girls the audience is sure to watch them try to escape or be tortured. Also the dim lighting and stereotypical creepy man. 
  6. How has technology been used effectively? The unfocused camera is a reflection of how the girl is feeling, perhaps lightheaded. The title sequence splits like the title name.

Introduction to the Music Video Project

 My next experience will be shooting the Music Video Project, which I'm very eager for. For this project, I will be working alone because of the pandemic that's occurring at the moment. But it's not necessarily a bad thing, I'm a great independent worker. I'm more of the introverted anti-social type and I'm not great with expressing my ideas with others. For this reason, I want to acknowledge that I plan to work on my communication skills. I know having those skills will help significantly in the real world. With that being said, I'm sure one could guess that I'm not dominant when working on a group project. However, if I work alone I could express my ideas to its full capability. Planning for my CeraVe commercial

  Props: The props will include the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser, silicon facial cleanser/massager, a mirror, laptop, and water. Costumes:   The subject would wear white apparel and have a bare clean face to properly display the product. The subject won't be shown too much because the main focus is the product. Schedule:  - October 20, 2020, I gathered research about the conventions of skincare commercials by watching advertisements of various skincare brands and made note of the reoccurring themes.  - October 22, 2020, I planned out what I should wear in my commercial and the necessary props that should be in it.  - October 23, 2020, I will speculate on how I want my commercial to look like.
